Dogs Fleas Candidates And~~

The Sneaky Snarling Yippy Dog
                          Chewing Up The Constitution

Every election cycle we are faced with which doggy in the window we will take home for the next four years.

Every election cycle is like a trip to your local breeder, or the pet store or do we want to 'rescue a dog' from our local Animal Shelter.

Our current crop of candidates like most dogs have some fleas, they get them from the yard, on walks and playing with other dogs. Some of our candidates have more fleas than others.  Our problem as voters is sorting out which dog has fleas that we can live with. Some questions for voters is which dog will wear a flea collar, subject himself to a flea bath and monthly treatment.

Do we want a big well trained dog, do we want a hunting dog, a good shepherding dog, or a well coiffed high maintenance dog?  Or is a mutt a better fit for the voting public.  Are we willing to buy a dog who has never been on a leash?

The last election we were sold a dog without papers. In the minds of some voters they believe the record keeper at the Hawaiian dog club lost our current Top Dogs papers. Although we know who was his mother there remains serious questions in the minds of many voters about his pedigree, and whether his pedigree was filled out properly.  Further we are not sure where he went to puppy school and his Big dog training is hidden behind the walls of the big dog training school he attended.

Due to our last dog purchase voters have become highly sensitive about who should be our Top Dog.  We have learned that even dogs that have been highly touted by everyone as the smartest dog in the hunt can have serious house training problems.

It seems our current Top Dog who resides in our house, is chewing up the furniture, soiling the carpet.  And the current Top Dog has a barking problem.  Our current top dog seems to have trouble understanding who pays for his dog food, vet bills, and his kennel.

Our current Top Dog also has a problem knowing exactly who is a threat. He barks and snarls at all the wrong people, whether they are family or long time friends.  Our current Top Dog has this problem not only at home, but on trips our Top Dog does not seem to understand what his job is.

Our current Top Dog seems to like dog fights, and he has bitten the hand that feeds him.  Our current top dog has developed a habit of growling at his owners, threatening them and shows an unwillingness to get along in the dog park.  He seems to think as Top Dog he can have his bone and eat it too.  As a matter of fact our Top Dog has a habit of taking other bones and feeding them to the dog in his pack.

Americans are all dog lovers and we each have breeds that we champion, some of us are more than attached to our Heinz 57 varieties, and who does not love a good junkyard dog that will protect his bone and his junkyard?

Our problem as voters is sorting out which dog has fleas that we can live with.  Some questions for  voters is which dog will wear a flea collar, subject himself to a flea bath and monthly treatment.  Which dog has had the proper training and which dog will listen to our whistles and not trudge off on some skunk chasing adventure, leaving us to bathe them in tomato juice or a concoction from the pet store.

This year those of us on the right are blessed with nine fine pedigreed dogs all seeking to be the Top Dog.  Some are more stubborn than others.  Some have fleas left from previous excursions.  Some have fleas of their own making.  But each and everyone of them has been to Dog Rescue school and each is up to the job they are asking us to elect them to do.

I have no question in my mind whether any of our dogs are loyal enough.  I am certain that those of us on the right will not have another Top Dog Chewing up the Constitution, barking up the wrong tree and eating us out of house and home.

Obama Must Go

If You Don't Have A Reason ~
               You Might Be A Liberal

A Cabinet of Culprits
My first instinct for this blog was a quick list of my reasons I could just rip out, add some art and be done with it.

However I like to link facts.  Just a habit I have developed when I first started my blog.  Once I got started I realized that we all have a mental list of reasons that Obama absolutely deserves one and done.

So I will make this a series, first I have determined to address his Cabinet of Culprits.  We all need to understand that nearly every Cabinet has been re-purposed.  Every single Cabinet member is busy writing departmental changes and directions contrary to the founding of the various Cabinets that make up the Executive Branch.  It is my contention that this Republic has never been so ill served, and that no previous Executive has been so determined to embed his agenda by warping and undermining the original intent and  the purpose of every agency.

President Obama's agenda is one to permanently fundamentally change our Constitutional frame of a limited government.

As of 10/10/2011

The clock moves almost too fast to read!

Debt from Obama has accrued since he was sworn in 4.212 trillion--more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush.

No Federal Budget for 894 days as of 10/10/2011.

 Unemployment 9.1% As of 10/7/2011

On October 14, 2011 the Treasury Department noted FY 2011 deficit second highest in US History, only surpassed by FY 2009 "The US budget deficit for fiscal year 2011 is $1.299 trillion the second largest shortfall in US History...The nation only ran a larger deficit for the 2009 fiscal year, which included the dramatic collapse of financial markets and a huge bailout effort by the government. The nation's deficit that year was $1.412 trillion... This year's deficit is slightly higher than fiscal year 2010, when the nation ran a $1.293trillion deficit.  A Stunning 3 year total Deficit for Obama of $4.004 Trillion Dollars.

Cabinet of Culprits

1.  Obama's selection of Hillary Clinton Secretary of State

Obama has successfully made Hillary Clinton unimportant.  Every time there is a major Foreign Policy push, Obama has sent Hillary on a wild goose chase to some far-flung unimportant corner of the world.

However when Obama wanted to support the Small Arms Treaty or to turn the United States into the UN Human Rights Commission (which at the time Gdaffi chaired, he sent Hillary.

2.  Obama's selection of Eric Holder as Attorney General.

Has the United States every had an Attorney General who has had so little regard for the laws he has sworn to protect and defend?  If you are an illegal immigrant, a terrorist, a New Black Panther Party Member Holder has your back.  If you are in the running guns to Mexican Cartels and a US Border Agent dies from one of the illegally procured weapons, Holder has your back.

Holder is in violation of his oath of office to enforce United States laws and be Attorney General who protects all Americans and not the Agenda of the Left.

3.  Obama's Appointment of Timothy Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury

Who would have ever guessed that a tax cheat who had an illegal alien as a housekeeper would be appointed to be Secretary of the Treasury?  Meg Whitman Conservative Republican woman fell behind in the polls when it was discovered that she terminated an illegal alien housekeeper.

Timothy Geithner was in charge of the Treasury during the firs ever US down grade.  Both Rand  Paul and Michelle Bachmann have called for his resignation.

If you look on the Internet for Timothy Geithner there are pages and pages of links about Geithner AIG and the financial collapse and what his role may or may not have been.  My eyes are absolutely crossed.

All of Obama's economic team save Geithner have resigned.
If Geithner is an economic wizard his talent sure seems missing.

4.  Obama's selection of Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security

From The Foundary at Heritage Foundation: "Secretary Napolitano’s job is to follow and enforce the law—not to use her authority to undermine it."
In April of 2009 Janet Napolitano issued a report calling returning Veterans of the Iraq and Afghan wars potential terrorist,  and refused to apologise.  (In both links the PDF file would not open).

Napolitano declared Obama's Dream Act Executive Order 'Defacto Law'

Napolitano hindered Sheriff Arpaio of Arizona's efforts to arrest illegals.

In 2009 Napolitano said illegally crossing the border 'was not a crime' ..."On Sunday, April 19, 2009, Secretary Napolitano went on CNN’s “State of the Union” and proclaimed that crossing the border illegally is not a crime. This statement left a lot of folks scratching their heads given that U.S. law—the law Napolitano is sworn to uphold—says quite the opposite. Section 8, Title 1325 of the U.S. code clearly states that those who enter the U.S. illegally are committing a crime..."

11.  Obama's selection of Gary Locke as Secretary of Commerce

It appears that the most important thing Gary Locke has done is buy his own cup of Starbucks coffee and carry his own luggage on a recent trip to China.  To be honest I have wading through 15 pages of searches I give up.  He is Obama's most recent appointee, and oh by the way he buys his own coffee and carries his own luggage.

12.  Obama's selection of Hilda Solis as Secretary of Labor

Discover The Networks Bio on Hilda Solis

Hilda Solis is yet another Cabinet Member of the Obama Administration obstructing United States Coded laws. In this Hot Air blog, in a You Tube Hilda Solis encourages illegal employees to turn their employers in for not paying them a fair wage.  Well that link is missing, but here is the You Tube...'illegal not being paid fairly, call us we can help!'

13.  Obama's selection of Kathleen Sibelius as Secretary of Health And Human Services

Kathleen Sibelius is the Grande Dame of abortion support, and is completely in charge of writing miles of regulations for the Affordable Health care act.  Take a look at what the EPA has done to manufacturing, and you will have a bit of a clue what it will do for Health Care in the United States.

14.  Obama's selection of Shaun Donovan as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development

Shaun Donovan and sustainability and support of EPA in housing and urban development.

From the above link,..."Beyond that, Donovan has created the Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities, bringing HUD, DOT, and the EPA together in an effort to ensure that funding decisions by all three agencies weigh housing affordability, transportation, and environmental protection in every funding disbursement they make that has any connection with real estate development. Last October, the three agencies’ Partnership for Sustainable Communities joint venture awarded its first $100 million in planning grants to 45 local community development and planning groups. That same month, HUD and DOT awarded $68 million in grants to 62 local and regional partnerships working on transit-oriented real estate projects designed to connect affordable housing and employment in innovative ways."
15.  Obama's selection of Ray H. Lahood as Secretary of Transportation

Ray Lahood was the chief overseer of the Auto bailout.  He also was overseer of the foolish cash for clunkers, he supports silly little cars with plugs.
16.  Obama's selection of Steven Chu as Secretary of Energy

Discover The Networks bio of Steven Chu

Where to begin with Steven Chu, a Nobel Prize winning envirofascist that has done more than nudge the use of ineffective green energy into our lives.  Billions of dollars, somewhere in the neighborhood of 38 billion, of our tax dollars have been squandered for a very limited number of permanent jobs.

Steven Chu believes in man made Global Warming and in Cap & Trade.
In a previously blog, "DOE's Solarpalooza Smelly Smarmy 'Nudge' The Big Green Agenda" I wrote extensively about the loans to Solar Energy Advisers.

The news and scandals surrounding the clean energy loans gathers steam everyday, even as I write this current blog.  Even Obama's Treasury Department officials said the Solyndra loan should not be packaged.
what horror stories of mis-spent taxpayer dollars will emerge as the Department of Energy rushed loans that were not closed on September 29th, but sent out the doors of the Department of Energy at the end of the fiscal year September 30, 2011.
17.  Obama's selection of Arne Duncan as Secretary of Education

It is my position that anyone who holds that it is acceptable to force an agenda promoting a gay or lesbian lifestyle to school aged children is completely out of sync with traditional American values.  Had the Senate not had a majority, I doubt that Arne Duncan would ever have been confirmed as Secretary of Education.

Arne Duncan War on local school boards.

Arne Duncan support of LBGT agenda.
18.  Obama's selection of Eric Shinseki as Secretary of Veteran's Affairs

It would appear that Eric Shinseki may be one of the least agenda riven of all of Obama's appointments to his Cabinet.  Major General Eric Shinseki resigned from his positon of Army Chief of Staff a result in disagreement with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's and George W. Bush 43s Iraq policy.

19.  Obama's selection of Susan Rice as Ambassador to the UN

Discover The Networks bio of Susan Rice

Susan Rice is perhaps the worst Ambassador to the UN that has ever held this positon.  From Front Page Magazine "President Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, has long been an advocate for weakening American sovereignty in order to benefit the UN and its anti-American agenda. It is a policy known as “engagement,” where the United States subsumes its own vital interests, abandons its traditional role of leadership in the world community, and, as Anne Bayefsky writes, pushes the process of “subcontracting American national security” to the UN..."
20.  Obama's selection of Julius Genachowski Chairman of the FCC
It would appear that at least once an Obama Appointee has chosen to do the right thing and take the 'Fairness Doctrine of the FCC off of its books..."In his statement killing the doctrine along with 82 other outmoded rules, Mr. Genachowski got it right: "The elimination of the obsolete Fairness Doctrine regulations will remove an unnecessary distraction. As I have said, striking this from our books ensures there can be no mistake that what has long been a dead letter remains dead. The Fairness Doctrine holds the potential to chill free speech and the free flow of ideas and was properly abandoned over two decades ago..."
And in the same breath but more chilling Genachowski is in favor of net neutrality and is engaged in a one size fits all access to information which can be found on the Internet.  From Neil Stevens at RedState:
..."Net Neutrality started out as a broad-based movement on the Internet. It wasn’t a left-wing thing at all, but rather was something most of us could support, because it was merely a movement to ensure (usually government franchise-backed) ISP firms could not abuse their monopoly or oligopoly power to coerce their customers to use other services by the firm, such as phone service in the case of AT&T or television service in the case of Comcast. I believe this is a reasonable request. It doesn’t prevent investors in Internet technology from profiting, but rather merely prevents them from abusing government-granted market power to benefit other businesses..."
Here is a copy of the PDF file of the speech Genachowski gave at the Brookings Institute of his vision of 'net neutrality'

21.  Obama's selection of Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defense.

Discover the Networks Bio of Leon Panetta

Long time Clinton insider who should never have had his positon at either the CIA or Department of Defense.

We pay these Cabinet Secretaries $199,700.00 annually.  They serve at the President's Pleasure. The secretaries are appointed by the president, but must be approved by a simple majority vote of the Senate. The only qualification is that a department secretary cannot be a member of Congress or hold any other elected office.

These Cabinet Secretaries are busy writing regulations and writing policy that affect every American and our role in the world at large, and they are subject to testify before Congress.  Meanwhile hiding in the shadows are Obama's Czars, writing all sorts of regulations out side of advise and consent of the Legislative body.  Who even knows how much damage and at what cost this bunch has been up to.

And to be honest, I feel like I need a shower.

Dead Parrots And The Cognitive Dissonance Of Democrats

                  A Dialectic Derangement Disorder
"It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society.  When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime."
~Thomas Paine,  The Age of Reason

If you have ever found yourself in an unwanted circular never ending discussion with someone on the left chances are you have found yourself as frustrated as John Cleese in this infamous skit from Monty Python's Flying Circus from the 1970s.  Liberals never change their tactics.

Since the election of Obama, this nation has been subjected to one after another distortion, mis-statement, speeches filled with half-truth's based on straw man arguments,  misdirection, tall tales, double speak, and a blurring of real facts that are breathtaking in both their scope.  Obama certainly employs all of these tactics, as well as his administration.  Every interview, speech, or appearance by by Obama, or his Cabinet.
If you watch FOX news, and the pundits on any of the various shows, you will see this Cognitive Dissonance in nearly every segment when there is a discussion of any political topic with a Republican and a Democrat on the left.  The Democrat immediately heads to an altruistic "feelings are fact argument."

The ploys are always the same, and these are the varying tactics used by the left, whenever Republicans or those on the right allow themselves to get ensnared in a circular discussion to nowhere with Democrats:
Here is a list compiled by Dr. Sanity:

"1.  Red Herrings:  Premises or ideas that are irrelevant to a particular conclusion, but which are offered as evidence of the conclusion.

2.  Straw Man:  Deliberately setting up a false target that is easier to defeat in an argument.

3.  Begging the question:  The situation where the truth of a conclusion is assumed by its premises.

Remember these promises?

4.  Selective use of evidence:  In any analysis there is usually a large amount of evidence to consider, particularly when there is sufficient complexity involved. Sometimes it is easier to pay attention only to evidence that supports the desired conclusion and not to evidence which contradicts it.

5.  Moving the goal posts:  Is a common practice in denial and occurs when someone always demands more evidence than can currently be provided.  If that evidence becomes available at a later date, the demand is made for even more evidence, ad infinitum.

6.  Argument by definition:  Is changing the meaning of words or concepts so that they support your argument (e.g."it depends on what the meaning of 'is is"; and other distortions of language like using the opposite meaning of a word as in George Orwell's Newspeak).

7.  Liar Paradox:  Is the use of paradoxical statements (e.g., "This statement is false" or "There is no objective truth") that are linguistically correct but internally inconsistent and cannot be demonstrated to be either true or false."

Chances are after your first encounter with a 'libidiot', you may, like me, be inclined to wear a helmet, and some chest high waders, have a paddle and a nitwit net for your next exchange of facts and the obfuscation you will encounter with a 'true believer agenda driven leftist reality distorter.

Is it even possible for the left to ever give up their denial of the failure of the Obama Administration?

Or have Democrats become so jaded and intent on forcing the agenda of the Obama Administration down our collective throats they will resort to any means to win not just a discussion between voters, but debates and an election.  Has the left  been completely poisoned by the blue Koolaid they are drinking?

"A point of view can be a dangerous luxury when substituted for insight and understanding." Marshall McLuhan

Clearly the Mainstream Media is involved in enabling the Obama Administration, along with commentators, all are obscuring what anyone paying attention to real everyday facts.

The latest social theater of the absurd can be seen in the Occupy Wall Street protests all over America manufactured by the left and enjoined by public and private sector unions.  These ginned up protest are an effort to fire up the now very depressed far left base of the Democrat Party as Americans and
Independent voters are now holding the Obama Administration accountable for their failed policies.

In this article from the Weekly Standard, Matt Labash says, ..."When I arrive at Occupy Wall Street (OWS) ground zero at Zuccotti Park, only a few blocks over from the World Trade Center ground zero, the first revolutionaries I encounter are two masked-up anarchists named Spooky and Newport. They wear studded leather jackets which bear hand-painted inscriptions like “Fight War, Not Wars” and are clad in black from head to toe. Except Newport additionally sports a chartreuse fright wig and sunglasses with reflecting marijuana leaves on the lenses. They seem to know they’re a spectacle, since they stand in front of a cardboard sign that reads “Pictures for change or a dollar.” Meaning the passing fanny-packing tourist hordes or smirking financial sector barbarians can get their snaps taken with Spooky and Newport as if they were mascots at Disney’s new Protester World Experience..."

From Forbes Magazine, Occupy Wall Street: Contempt Of Political Class..."Keynes prophesied in The Economic Consequences of the Peace something very much like #OWS (and the whole world of protests) and addressed the underlying cause of the resentment:

“Lenin is said to have declared that the best way to destroy the capitalist system was to debauch the currency. … By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily; and, while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The sight of this arbitrary rearrangement of riches strikes not only at security, but at confidence in the equity of the existing distribution of wealth. Those to whom the system brings windfalls, beyond their deserts and even beyond their expectations or desires, become ‘profiteers,’ who are the object of the hatred …. [Emphasis added.]
Lenin was certainly right. There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose..."
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committe Suppports Occupy Wall Street

Hugo Chavez supports Occupy Wall Street

Code Pink Supports Occupy Wall Street

New York Times Supports Occupy Wall Street

SEIU and Unions Support Occupy Wall Street

Is it even possible for a Democrat to be honest in addressing any of the dire issues this nation faces? Can Democrats be straight talkers about the economic difficulties, high unemployment this nation faces without a true astroturfed organized event to ramp up the emotions and class warfare of America's Left?

It sure does not appear the left is capable of embracing the limited government Free Market model found in the Constitution from my perspective.

..."As long as the left continues to live in the world of denial and play their rhetorical games and use their non-logic to justify the unjustifiable, to tolerate the intolerable; and support the unsupportable; then I will continue to blog and expose their motives and hidden agendas; and do everything I can to prevent them from regaining political power."

Field of Dreamers~Position Is Everything

If You Build It They Will Come
"Baseball is our national pastime,
that is if you discount political campaigning."
-Ronald Reagan

"One of the beautiful things about baseball is that every once in a while you come into a situation where you want to, and where you have to, reach down and prove something."
~Nolan Ryan, Hall of Fame Pitcher
There is no crying in politics!

Baseball is said to be America's Pastime. However I am inclined to agree with Ronald Reagan, once every four years America's dialogue is heated up by politics.

American Baseball and American Politics share many similarities, they are part of our American culture. Both are filled with legends of great American heroes, filled with stories of individuals overcoming tremendous odds to rise to excellence.

Both have a tiered protocol to the top.  Baseball starting with T-Ball, Youth leagues, Middle School and High School Leagues, College and University Leagues. And baseball has a series of divisions, from AA Leagues to Triple AAA Leagues ending with the two Divisions of Major League Professional Baseball, The American League and the National League.

Politics, too. has a tiered protocol to the top.  Most politicians rise from School Board elections, local community, county, and state elections from council members to Governors, right up to elected seats of governance to the big "show" of federally elected positions of United States Congress, United States Senate and President.

It is indeed rare when a private citizen rises to hold the office of President of the United States.  It is a big hurdle to rise to President from the Congress.  Senators have become President, but the vast majority of Presidents have come from the ranks of Governors of United States.

This very minute America needs great heroes, for inspiration like Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Nolan Ryan Ernie Banks, Jackie Robinson, Cal Ripkin and Joe DiMaggio, who aspired to excellence  and courageous Patriots leaders who believe in the limite role of government, to lead us.  Men like Patrick Henry, Audie Murphy, and our founders, George Washington, the signers of the Declaration who risked everything for our freedoms.

"Baseball serves as a good model for democracy in action: Every player is equally important and each has a chance to be a hero."  ~Edward Abbey

One of my all time favorite comedy routines is the 'Who's On First' routine by Abbot and Costello.

"Costello: Same as you! Same as YOU! I throw the ball to who. Whoever it is drops the ball and the guy runs to second. Who picks up the ball and throws it to What. What throws it to I Don't Know. I Don't Know throws it back to Tomorrow, Triple play. Another guy gets up and hits a long fly ball to Because. Why? I don't know! He's on third and I don't give a darn!  Abbott: What?  Costello: I said I don't give a darn!  Abbott: Oh, that's our shortstop."

On Tuesday I came up with a clever idea for this particular blog. I love allegories and there are many wonderful allegorical uses with baseball as a theme and unending analogies. I have been at bat writing this blog 3 times, and have lost it twice after it was completed, and once midway through because I was not paying attention, I was distracted.  "Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem." ~Saul Steinberg

I have given myself the position of Manager of this imaginary, but real team of candidates, who have announced a campaign to seek the Presidency of the United States..  I have assigned their various positions on this baseball team.  "The key to being a good manager is keeping the people who hate me away from those who are still undecided."  ~Casey Stengel  I am in this instance the soul arbiter of management and commentary.

There are three types of baseball players: those who make it happen, those who watch it happen, and those who wonder what happens.
~Tommy Lasorda

Introducing the 2011-2012 All-Star Republican Presidential Primary Team Line-up

Starting at Right Field: Rick Santorum
Current Position:  Private Citizen, former Senator from Pennsylvania
Manager's Assessment:  If ever was a manager's dream for a Right Fielder it is Rick Santorum.  He is perhaps the most devout social conservative in this years primaries.  Rick quickly defends Conservative postions.  When he is at bat he hits a line drive hard over the first base line.  If he hits a homer it is always delivered to the right field, porch or bleachers. Even his fouls go down the right field land.  Rick is having trouble making a connection with the fans who vote for allstars, and that shows in his low polling average.  Rick is going to have to find a way to make his message resonate in this crowded field. The shift in the early primary schedule could be his new best friend.  "No game in the world is as tidy and dramatically neat as baseball, with cause and effect, crime and punishment, motive and result, so cleanly defined." ~Paul Gallico

Starting at Center Field:  Mitt Romney
Current Position:  Private Citizen, former Governor of Massachusetts
Manager's Assessment:  Mitt Romney sure looks good in a baseball uniform. The problem with how good he looks in a uniform is that home fans are never sure if he is wearing the home team's uniform, or the away team's uniform from the other league. His earned run error ratio is higher than average, a result of his varing positions on gun control, global warming, cap and trade, amnesty, and health care.  Romney is a good fielder, and he is a competent hitter who can hit the ball to either field. He is the current polling favorite, but it remains to be seen if he can be the firm Conservative we will need to lead this nation back to limited government.  "He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious."  ~Yogi Berra

Starting at Left Field:  Ron Paul
Current Position:  United States Congressman, 14th Congressional District
Manager's Assessment:  Ron Paul, is an originalist, he would not approve of the 'pinch hitter', he is a tradionalist, and likes our founding documents as they were written.  He does not believe in instant replay.  But when it comes to foreign policy it is hard to decide whether he has bunted or fouled out.  Paul's stance that it is acceptable for Iran to have nukes, is the same as saying the other team can have  field brawls and not have the manager and offensive players removed from the game.  It will be interesting to see if he will bow out gracefully and support the final Republican MVP, or look for employment on another team  and run as a Libertarian.  Whatever Ron Paul decides, I am certain that his fans will follow him.  You would have to throw a medicine ball to get some of his followers to see the forest for the trees.
"Stubborness is usually considered a negative, but I think that trait has bee a positive for me"  ~Cal Ripkin

Starting at First Base:  Gary Johnson
Current Position:  Private Citizen, Former Governor of New Mexico
Current Polling Statistics as of October 7th, 2011 Gary Johnson is currently not showing any polling data.
Manager's Assessment:  Gary Johnson arrived on the team after spring training began.  While he is an able ball player and dedicated to sound fiscal policy, one has to wonder if he will even make it to first base.  He has no polling statistics and he may have money problems if his campaign does not begin to resonate with voters.  His quote at the September 22, 2011 Debate in Orlando, "“My Neighbor's Dog has created more 'Shovel-Ready' jobs than Barack Obama” may well be the most memorable quote from this Governor who was amongst the strongest fiscal hawks in New Mexico history.  If Ron Paul departs is Gary Johnson his natural choice for VP? " I still feel like I can play defense at first base at a very high level."  ~Rafael Palmeiro

Starting at Second Base:  John Huntsman
Current Position  Private Citizen, former Ambassador to China, for Obama Administration, Governor of Utah
Manager's Assessment:  It may well be that Jon Huntsman has more than a uniform issue but a league issue, Jon Huntsman resigned in the middle of his second term as Utah Governor to serve in the Obama administration. This may be the main reason why voters appear uninterested in his platform.  Huntsman decided to forego an exploratory committee in  his decision making process in determining his candidacy for President.  His league probem has him high in the earned error ratio.  He may hang on indefinitely on the podium since he is funding his campaign with his own money.  His stances on global warming are troubling another of his earned errors in the eyes of Conservative voters.  "A ball player's got to be kept hungry to become a big-leaguer. That's why no boy from a rich family ever made the big leagues." ~Joe DiMaggio

Starting at Third Base: Michelle Bachmann
Current Position  Congressional Representative from MN 6th District
Managers Assessment:  Michelle Bachmann is a Tea Party favorite, and with Sarah Palin determining that she will not enter the race to seek the nomination of the Republican Party, Bachmann's polling may improve.  Bachman has done herself no favors in her attacks of the men she is running against. While she certainly knows which team she is on, she seems to have trouble with her at bats.  Her speaking engagements are rife with mistated facts and errors.  Of all that are running for office Bachmann's resume is perhaps the thinnest.  She has a solid 250 batting average, and hits a lot of singles.  She has yet to hit a home run with voters.  She has had trouble with her campaign managment, and needs to step up her game and be focused on policy and not sniping her teammates.  "Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player." ~Author Unknown

Starting at Shortstop: Herman Cain
Current Position Private Citizen, Broadcast Radio Personality Former CEO, Chairman of  Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City,
Managers Assessment:  Herman Cain is a likeable person.  That may be his biggest strong suit.  Herman Cain aslo has no league or uniform problems. Can he be the one to carry our team across the finish line in 2012?  Cain entered the 2000 Presidental Race only to drop out quickly and become an advisor for the 2000 Dole Kemp Campaign.  Cain also has never won an election, he did not get past the 2004 GA Senate race to fill Dem. Senator Zel Miller and lost by a greater than 25% margin to now Senator Johnny Isakson.  I must admit I was very dismayed by Cain's quick conclusion jumping and his comments about the now storied rock on the Perry families leased dear hunting facilities.  Cain has said that he would not have room for a Conservative Governor from a big  Red State based on a questionable unsubstantieated story about nonsensical rock.  Cain was a natural choice for shortstop, as he despite his earned error, he has a solid batting average and is proving to be a good base runner, the question is can he be a good team player?  "There is no room in baseball for discrimination. It is our national pastime and a game for all" ~Lou Gehrig

Starting at Pitcher:  Newt Gingrich
Current  Position Private Citizen, 58th Speaker of the House served GA 6th Congressional District
Managers Assessment:  Gingrich is a team player in his last years still looking to get the player of the year award.  At every debate Gingrich's unflinching resolve and flaming fast balls have zinged through the strike zone with each answer.  Newt has the carriage of a hall of fame player certain of his e.r.a. and wins and losses. An argument could be made that Gingrich would wipe our Democratice encumbents backside from here to next week in a Presidential debate. Newt loves the sport and has a historians and stat maker's reservoir of facts at ready command.  What Gingrich does not have is much of an organization or financing.  He could be out of the race by the middle of January, on the disabled list.  "As soon as I got out there I felt a strange relationship with the pitcher's mound. It was as if I'd been born out there. Pitching just felt like the most natural thing in the world. Striking out batters was easy." ~Babe Ruth

Starting at Catcher: Rick Perry
Current Position  Governor of the State of Texas, Leiutenant Governor of Texas
Managers Assessment:  Rick is the only choice to catcher as he has caught most of the hit pieces from not only his teammates competing for the nomination but from the MSM.  At this point he needs to stop hitting fouls and pop ups and firing off all most of his toes with his debate performances. Rick Perry missed the first two debates of the primary season.  Perry has spent the last two debates catching flack from not only the various moderators, but his fellow teammates, who resented his entrance polling numbers. He has had the race card thrown at him, by Herman Cain.  If Perry had shown any signs of  prejudice after 11 years as Governor Texans and the rest of the nation would know about it. His at bats need to be more of the line drive triples and home runs he has in his arsenal.  His team must do a better job of preparing him for the debates.  His away appearances are killling him.  There is not one candidate on the stage that can match Rick Perry's experience as an elected Executive. Perry was also chair of the RNG, during his tenure he helped the Republican Party increase it's on Governorships to 29 Red States. Perry's biggest foe at this point are his own gaffes."If you believe your catcher is intelligent and you know that he has considerable experience, it is a good thing to leave the game almost entirely in his hands." ~Bob Feller

The way a team plays as a whole determines its success.
You may have the greatest bunch of individuals stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime.
~Babe Ruth

GOP's Big Tent Candidate Circus: The Daring Ones On Flying Trapeeze

 They Go Uppity Up Up
 And Go Downdiddy Down Down
Who Can Beat The Dem Beast?
Courtesy of the MSM Talking heads and pundits the 2012 Race for Republican Nominee has been a media circus. It has created a torrent of pundit speculation, filled with misinformation, it has exposed the bias of moderators.  The debates have been formatted in one minute snippets of candidates clever campaign sloganeering.  The Race To be Republican Ringleader has been so far an 8 or 9 Candidate Race. These are the debates which have been held so far:
  •    May 5th, Greenville South Carolina
  •    June 13th Manchester, New Hampshire
  •    August 11th, Ames, Iowa
  •    September 7th Simi Valley, California
  •    September 12th Tampa Florida
  •    September 22nd, Orlando, Florida
At this point, two Candidates have already dropped out of the early running.  They both have joined the Mitt Romney Campaign.  After the Iowa Straw Poll, Tim Pawlenty, 39th Governor of Minnesota who served two terms, endoresed Mitt Romney and later joined his campaign .  On the day of the 5th Debate Congressman Thad McCotter Congressional Representative from Michigan's 11th District, who never polled high enough to make the stage in even one of the debates also dropped out of the race.  Representative McCotter also joined the Romney campaign.

The debate formats have varied widely, and have been sponsored by various organizations, and covered by several different cable news outlets.  The debates so far have been filled with rowdy rhetoric, swipes are made by contending debators at who ever shows in polling as the 'frontrunner.' Many of the jabs are filled with half truths and innuendo. Some of the candidates have flip flopped their positions enough times to be a short order cook at a burger joint. The debates allow generally one minute snippets of  the candidates ideas, and a reduced response time for rebuttal to other candidates attacks.

The current list of 'announced' Candidates are (and in no particular order or indication of my preference) are:
  1. Rick Santorum Former Senator, Pennsylvania served Two Terms
  2. Herman Cain, Former CEO, Chairman of  Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City 1992-1996
  3. Jon Huntsman,  16th Governor of Utah, Served 1 1/2 terms, resigned to become Ambassador to China, Obama Administration
  4. Michelle Bachmann, Congressional Representative from MN 6th District, 2 Terms
  5. Mitt Romney, 70th Governor of Massachusetts, CEO Served one term
  6. Ron Paul, Congressional Representative currently serving TX ,14th Congressional District, previously served the TX 22nd Congressional for a total of 26 years in the House of Representatives
  7. Newt Gingrich, 58th Speaker of the House served GA 6th Congressional District, served 20 years.
  8. Gary Johnson, 29th Governor of New Mexico  Term limited to 2 terms
  9. Rick Perry, 47th Governor of Texas, Assumed Governorship in 2000 re-elected 2 Terms
The Tea Party Organizations and millions of everyday Americans remain captivated by Sarah Palin.  She is perhaps the most charismatic persona the Republican Party has seen since Ronald Reagan.  There appears to be no middle ground of support for Sarah Palin from Americans.  Palin is either loved for her courage, tenacity and never surrender style or vilified and slammed with both hatred and smears, most of which are not true.  It is clear that a vast number of Americans are anxiously awaiting her decision to announce as a candidate for President of the United States.  During the 2010 Congressional Races Palin helped Conservative candidates with both money and support.

It is my personal opinion that if Palin does announce and run it will be on her own terms. Sarah Palin, alone, of all of the those who are running and those who are not yet running or even those who have declined has mastered messaging the medium.  Palin ably manages 21st Century communication.  I doubt she will be willing to place herself in a position of being ambushed by commentators, talking heads, debate gotchas, or shared platforms with nine other candidates.  Palin is surpassed in recent history only by Princess Diana in her ability to capture media attention.

Love her or hate her, Palin will be a force to be reckoned with in 2012.  If Sara announces, she has an energetic cadre of millions of Tea Party members ready willing and able to send money bombs, and who will also walk neighborhoods pounding doors in her support.  Palin's supporters will not be at all upset if she runs 'ROGUE'.  However the press and Palin's opponents will hate it, and the more she is vilified the more entrenched her supporters will become. In full disclosure, I am a fan of Sarah Palin, I admire her spunk and conviction. I hope that she does announce her candidacy to run and seek the nomination. (This is not an endorsement) or me stating that I would choose Sarah Palin in a primary run.  It is an acceptance of her considerable political clout.

The talking heads, moderate elites and big money bundling power brokers are pressuring Governor Chris Christie to run.  Christie is only 11 months into his first term as the 55th Governor of New Jersey.  Christie is continually hounded and pressured in an effort to cajole him to make the decision to decide to run.  Despite the fact Christie has said no to running if not once, at least a gazillion times. I am hoping Christie will stand firm on his decision and keep his committment to New Jersey voters.  Christie is precisely the wrong choice for 2012 and represents a kind of very pale red fiscal conservative.  I am hoping that Christie will decide not to run.  He will have problems with Conservatives because of his support of green initiatives, he  appears to accept global warming,  has in the past been soft on immigration, Christie has appointed a Muslim judge which for many on the right will create many questions. I love his bravado, but in my opinion Christie is not the man we need to elect as President in 2012.

The drop dead date for a Candidate to have their ducks is order begins with a set of filing deadlines starting on October 15, 2011.

In September, John Bolton former Ambassador to the United Nations announced he would not seek the Presidency.  The following Republicans have also declined to run:
  • Haley Barbour Governor of Mississippi
  • Mitch Daniels Current Governor of Indiana
  • Jim DeMint United States Senator from South Carolina
  • Mike Huckabee Former Governor of Arkansas
  • Bobby Jindal Current Governor of Louisiana
  • Bob McDonnell Current Governor of Virginia
  • Mike Pence United States Representative from Indiana
  • David Petraeus, Current Director of the CIA
  • Marco Rubio United States Senator from Florida
  • Paul Ryan United States Representative from Wisconsin
  • John Thune, Current Senator from South Dakota
  • Donald Trump Business Magnate
There is also a lengthy list of candidates whose names have been speculated to run in the media and discussed widely on social networks, but who at this time have expressed tepid or no interest in running:
  • Scott Brown United States Senator from Massachusettes
  • Rudy Guilani, Former Mayor of New York City
  • Lindsey Graham, United States Senator from South Carolina
  • Joe Scarborough Former United States Representative from Florida
  • Allen West United States Representative from Florida

The going nowhere campaign of those who have never made the national stage, here are the four candidates whose campaigns are running to Nowheresville:
  • Vern Weunsche, Businessman, Texas,
  • Buddy Roemer, former Governor of Louisiana,
  • Roy Moore former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court
  • Fred Karger, American political consultant, gay rights activist, and former actor
But wait!  More candidates have been lurking in the wings offstage, from the snowballs chance in hell moonbat brigade.  They are, Jack Fellure, the Presidential nominee of the Prohibition Party of 2012, Andy Martin nutcase lawyer, Jimmy Newton, famous for his 15 seconds of fame 'rent is to damn high rant', and last but not least, in this collection of loons and nut balls, is Jonathan Sharkey, running as a Republican and on the ticket of his ownVampires, Witches and Pagans Party has ended his presidential campaign, and says he intendes to run in 2020.
The Candidate Republicans Desire

The early primary states are even contributing to making the process of selecting a candidate more difficult.

Many states are in a race to hold their primaries ever earlier, and one is considering or has decided to hold a primary on December 31, 2011.

The Republican National Committee worked to with RNC member states to secure agreemeent that every primary would count.  Several states have selfishly moved their primaries forward.

This is a disservice to all who cast votes in the Republican primary, and could result in yet another milquetoast moderate undefined choice. These two blogs, one by the Underground Conservative, who says, "...The end result? A front-loaded primary/caucus system that’s almost guaranteed to produce a weak candidate based on whatever candidate has the most money and best organization and coupled with the appearance of momentum. The flames of the latter are certain to be flamed by the state-run media, which hardly has the GOP’s best interests at heart.

In 2008, this process gave us John McCain, arguably the weakest candidate that could have headed up the Republican ticket. Most likely this time around, it will produce Mitt Romney, the Next Guy In Line.
Yawn. Talk about depressing the GOP base."

And the other by "The Other McCain", that says, "...You may have noticed that the sudden announcement of Florida’s Jan. 31 date swiftly followed Cain’s upset win in the Florida straw poll — a result that had caused some people to urge New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to get in. But there won’t be time now for Christie to organize a campaign in time to compete in Iowa or New Hampshire.
Bonus for the old-boy Establishment? By making this move, the Florida GOP makes it all but certain that Sarah Palin can’t run in 2012.

What would really shake things up — and it would be just like her — is if Palin decided to pay back the Establishment by messing up their little insider game and endorsing Herman Cain..."

This fight for early positioning in the early primaries and the changes in dates could disadvantage many of the candidates, and will force changes in their schedules to make every effort to dot every 'i' and cross every 't' in an already grueling race to gain the Nomination of the Republican Party.

This maneuvering by states has placed Reince Priebus new Chair of the Republican National Committee in a hot seat, from "...The efforts of various states, such as Florida, to move up the date of their Republican presidential primaries has created animosity between Republicans of different states. And Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus must try to deal with the calendar in a way that maximizes fairness and minimizes conflict, The Hill reports.
The dispute is between historically early voting states and those that want to move up their dates to increase their influence in the process. Republican bigwigs in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina — three of the four early primary/caucus states — blasted Florida Wednesday for announcing plans to hold its primary Jan. 31.

Priebus will try to avoid the circus of 2008, when states kept shifting positions until the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary took place in early January. That made campaigns active during the December holidays. Iowa is traditionally first on the calendar and New Hampshire, second..."

It is my position that this nation needs a strong limited government Conservative.  One who has the courage and backbone necessary to make the Federal Government smaller.  One who is willing to address the vile excesses of the US Tax Code, tackle the over-regulation which interferes with free markets, stifles employment, and is suffocating this nations ability to engage on the world stage competitively.  And to finally for once and all insist on a sound national omnivore  energy policy.

It is also my position that the Candidate who eventually wins this current field of nine contenders in the kinetic debate process will have his or her work cut out to debate a failed President.  President Obama will distort facts and use strawmen and class warfare to win debates.

He will characterize whomever our nominee is as rich, selfish, uncaring, a polluter, a wrecker of the environment, a threat to seniors, who wants to give health care back to evil private insurers and label his opposition a war monger.  This will be for Obama a continued dialogue of economic, social, and environmental justice.  Obama will have a gargantuan war chest. And throngs of clueless liberals, union thugs and election machines bent on stealing the 2012 election.

America needs a George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge, Ronald Reagan, proud supporter of limited government and free markets.  America needs a candidate willing to clearly define the failure of Keynesian Economics, who is unafraid to do the heavy lifting necessary to save this Republic.

It is my opinion that only a Conservative fits this bill.

The next series of blogs will take a fair and reasoned look at all of the candidates.

It is my firm belief that this next election is make or break for this great nation to remain the Republic of our founders, and that we may have this one chance to save it given the agenda of the left and Obama's efforts to 'fundamentally' change this nation.  One chance to begin the long road to recovering the limited government model found in the Constitution, and one election to insure the legacy to future generations.

“11th Commandment”:
'Thou shalt not speak ill of other Republicans'
Ronald Reagan

The Buckley Rule, "I’d be for the most right, viable candidate who could win."

Just which candidate is the most Conservative viable candidate?
